FC Groningen has signed Jesper Mosselaar, a 21-year-old defender from Hoogkerk. He signed a contract for one season with an option for another year at Euroborg. Mosselaar will play this season for FC Groningen under-21, where he is the captain of the team that is still in the race for promotion to the second division after being autumn champion. The young defender started his career at HFC’15 and made the switch to FC Groningen under-12 in 2016. After a period at FC Emmen, he returned to the Pride of the North two years ago. During the presentation of his contract, his family and friends were present, describing him as a persevering person with discipline. Mosselaar himself identifies with this and emphasizes his commitment and leadership qualities. He is proud to wear the captain's armband and aims to progress to FC Groningen's first team. In addition to his role as a player, he is also the head coach of HFC’15 Under-19, which gives him a busy schedule. Nevertheless, his focus remains on achieving his dream of getting minutes at Euroborg.
