FC Groningen loses fifth consecutive league match to Twente

FC Groningen has lost its fifth consecutive league match. Dick Lukkien's team lost 2-1 to Twente on Sunday in Enschede.

What happened?

FC Groningen took the lead in the 35th minute with a goal from Marvin Peersman. He headed in from close range after an assist from Younes Taha.

How did Twente respond?

Four minutes later, Twente equalized. Daan Rots shot the ball past Groningen goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen after a cross from Stav Lemkin.

What were the consequences?

Twente took the initiative in the second half. In the 48th minute, Kristian Hlynsson put the home team ahead 2-1. The Icelander received the ball from Peersman and shot it past Vaessen.
