Romano Postema is leaving FC Groningen and making the move to Viking FK in Norway. The striker had previously set his sights on a transfer to the Norwegian champions.

What happened?

Postema had a contract with FC Groningen until 2024, but the club and the player have decided to part ways. The transfer to Viking FK is complete and Postema will sign a four-year contract with the Norwegian club.

The forward had scored eighteen goals for FC Groningen in the 2020/2021 season in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, but was unable to replicate that performance in the Eredivisie. Last season, he was loaned to FC Emmen, where he was successful again with 24 goals.

Why is Postema leaving?

Postema stated that he was looking for a new challenge and that Viking FK is the right club for him. He wants to play in the Champions League qualifiers and compete for the title in Norway.
