FC Groningen is striking a double with two new players. The club is about to sign Pelle Clement and Rijk Janse on a free transfer from respectively Sparta Rotterdam and NEC. Clement is a 30-year-old midfielder who previously played for Ajax, Reading, PEC Zwolle, and RKC Waalwijk. He scored two goals and provided three assists in 26 Eredivisie matches last season. Rijk Janse is the older brother of Dies Janse, who played for FC Groningen last season. Rijk Janse is expected to strengthen the goalkeeping department of FC Groningen. The contract of Hidde Jurjus was not extended and Dirk Baron left for FC Emmen. Etienne Vaessen will sign a new contract and Lovro Stubljar is the third goalkeeper.
