FC Groningen plays the first six home games of the upcoming season not on a Saturday evening. The club is not happy with this, although FC Groningen director Frank van Mosselveld understands that compiling the competition program is a big puzzle every season. Initially, the home game against PEC Zwolle was the only home game on a Saturday evening, but that game has been moved to Friday evening. FC Groningen plays two games on Friday evening and four games on Sunday afternoon at Euroborg during the first twelve matchdays. Of those four games on Sunday afternoon, one game is at the classic football time of 14:30. The director understands that compiling the program for the professional football competition board is a complicated task. Due to the number of exceptions that must be taken into account and the number of time slots in the Eredivisie, you often don't play at your favorite time. FC Groningen's favorite time was Sunday afternoon at 14:30 for years. That has changed, according to Van Mosselveld. We prefer a good mix between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, with the last few years of supporters - and therefore us - preferring Saturday evening at 20:00. The matchdays 13 to 21 will be announced in early September. We assume that this will be the case for the entire season and we hope to play the remaining home games on Saturday evening in the second part of the first half of the season, concludes Van Mosselveld. FC Groningen director Frank van Mosselveld is satisfied with the reaction of the supporters and hopes that the club can play a good mix of games. The club plays against various opponents in the first twelve matchdays, including FC Utrecht, ADO Den Haag, and PSV. The games against these opponents are always exciting and FC Groningen hopes for a good outcome. The club is working hard on the preparation for the new season and hopes for a successful campaign. The team is looking forward to the new season and is ready to give it their all. With a good mix of games, FC Groningen is confident that they can achieve their goals.
